This is a photo of a Rosy Maple Moth that I found resting on a wall near my house during the daytime. It had a fuzzy yellow head, pink and yellow wings, and rose-colored feet. This has definitely been the most unusual moth I have ever seen. Soon after I took the photo, it flew away.

This is another photo of a foggy lake in Michigan. There is a small island in the lake that you can see straight ahead in the distance, through the fog.
This is picture of a foggy lake in Michigan, with mallard ducks in the distance.
This is a continuation of yesterday’s theme, taken from the same spot on the same lake, on a different day. Here the sky was very overcast and the sun was almost done setting, but some of the sun managed to peek out under the clouds.
This is a photo of a winter sunset on a lake in Michigan, taken a few years ago.
This is a photo of the snow on a lake in Michigan, taken in January. It was very sunny, but windy!
Icy Fall Lake, part2
This is a continuation of Icy Fall Lake from last week. These are some additonal shots of a different section of the lake.
These pictures were taken in Michigan last fall when we had an early snowfall. It was very windy, and the snow was blown in rather interesting patterns around the lake.
Snow on Pine Tree, Winter Lake
This is a picture of a lake in Michigan after a snowstorm. There is so much heavy snow on the pine tree, that it has bent the tree over. Click on the image to see full size.
Wild Turkeys Crossing the Road
This is a photo I took last year of a flock of Wild Turkeys crossing the road in Michigan. It is not the clearest of photos because I took it through the windshield, and the turkeys were moving at the time. Often turkeys just cross the road whenever they want to, so people have to slow down and wait. It is important to always look to make sure that more turkeys are not waiting to cross, because they are a flock and want to stay together.
These were some gourds and apples I put out for the fall, and eventually they got covered with a dusting of snow.
The apples were eventually eaten by the local wildlife
A few years ago I took these photos in June or July, on the same Michigan lake featured in my photo “Sailboat on a Lake”. I was just walking along the beach when all of a sudden this duck family walked out into the water not far from me. The ducklings were very young, and did not have adult feathers yet. I didn’t realize that young ducks were spotted, but when you think of it, it makes sense, for camoflage reasons.
Sailboat on Michigan Lake
This is a lake in Michigan that has a lot of birds like ducks and geese. There is also a campsite, but no boat launch. If you bring a boat, it needs to be carry in only, so you need to bring something that you can carry down a hill and back up, like a canoe or kayak. The sailboat probably belongs to people who live on the lake. Also, the campsite is very rustic (no electricity, pump your own water) so you have to like that sort of thing!
