Sweet Ginger Peach Black Tea

4/9/15

Tea Review-Sweet Ginger Peach Black Tea

Revolution Sweet Ginger Peach is a light tasting black tea with the flavor of peach and ginger. It has a lovely peach aroma as well.  The ginger root gives the tea a warm orange cast, and is healthy too.  It really is very mild for a black tea, and has a very light color in the cup.

Ingredients:

Ceylon and Assam Teas, Ginger Root and Peach Flavor.

Caffeine content: 40 mg per cup

Tea Review: Russian Caravan Black Tea

Tea Review: Russian Caravan Black Tea

2/7/15

Russian Caravan is a black tea made by Choice Organic Tea. It has a rather strong flavor that is kind of smoky in nature, almost like a campfire. I would recommend steeping it for less time than recommended, maybe for a minute or less. (Instead of 4 – 5 minutes). The tea is from China and is a combination of Yunnan Tea with smoked Lapsang Souchong. This is a quote from the back of the box:

“Explore the exotic with this distinctly smoky tea, a taste coveted by a 19th century Russian czar. His camel caravans traveled perilous routes from China, where nightly campfires added to the tea’s heady aroma.”

They don’t say what czar this would be, however. All in all, this is a strong and unusual tea.

Organic Black Tea

Tea Review: Apple Cider Herb Tea

Tea Review: Apple Cider

1/2/15

Apple cider tea by Bigelow is an herbal tea with the flavor of apples and spice. It has a slightly tart flavor thanks to the hibiscus. I was surprised that this tea tastes so much like apples. It tastes really nice, not unnaturally sweet. I tried this tea plain, but I could also see someone adding apple juice to this. This is a good tea to have for fall or winter, or really anytime.

Ingredients: apple, hibiscus, cinnamon, natural apple cider flavors with other natural flavors (soy lecithin), lemon peel, orange peel, rose hips, licorice root, clove

Tea review: Pumpkin Spice Tea

Tea Review- Stash Pumpkin Spice

12/18/14

This is an unusual tea from the Stash tea company.  It is a decaf black tea with the flavor of pumpkin and spices. The pumpkin flavor is a little on the strong side for me, but I like the spices and that it is decaf.  Plus, it is an original idea to have pumpkin in a tea.

Ingredients:

Naturally decaffeinated black tea, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, natural pumpkin spice flavor, and clove.

Tea Review: Choice Organic Decaf Green Tea

Tea Review:  Choice Organic Decaffeinated Green Tea

11/29/14

Choice Organic Decaffeinated Green Tea is a “full-bodied” naturally decafinated green tea that is fair trade certified.  Note that this means that the tea is rather strong, so if you are used to a more mild green tea, this may be an acquired taste.  I have really grown to like it, though.  It tastes a bit bitter at first, but it has a very nice flavor, and I like the fact that it is decaf and fair trade.

Ingredients: Decaffeinated Organic Green Tea

Tea Review: Celestial Seasonings Raspberry Gardens Green Tea
10/28/14

Celestial Seasonings Raspberry Gardens Green Tea is a mild tasting green tea with a bright red color with the flavor of hibiscus and raspberry.  I am not sure if they still make this tea anymore, but it is a really nice combination of green and herbal, if you can find it.

Ingredients: Green Tea, Hibiscus, Blackberry Leaves, Natural Raspberry Flavor with Other Flavors, Roasted Chicory, and Raspberries (contains soy lecithin)

Caffeine per 8-oz. cup: 15 mg
